Dr. Choi Was Invited to the International Conferences as Technical Program Co-Chair and Technical Program Committee Member: ICGHIT 2018 and NOMS 2018

Dr. Choi was invited to two international conferences recently.

The ICGHIT 2018 (2018 International Conference on Green and Human Information Technology) invited him to serve as a Technical Program Co-Chair.  It will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, January 31-February 2, 2018.  ICGHIT (International Conference on Green and Human Information Technology) is a unique global conference for researchers, industry professionals, and academics interested in the latest development of green and information technology.  The conference will include plenary sessions, technical sessions, and workshops with exhibition.  The main discussion topics include Computer and Network security, Green Information Technology, communication and IoT, Multimedia and Signal Processing, Control and Intelligent System, and Green IC Systems Design.

The NOMS 2018 (IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium) organizing committee also invited him to serve as a Technical Program Committee Member.  It will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, April 23-27, 2018.  The theme of the conference is ’Cognitive Management in a Cyber World.’  Held in even-numbered years since 1988, NOMS follows the 30 years tradition as the primary IEEE Communications Society’s forum for technical exchange on the management of information and communication technology focusing on research, development, integration, standards, service provisioning, and user communities.  NOMS 2018 will offer various types of sessions: technical, experience, demo, poster, and panel.  The conference brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry which provides a multidisciplinary forum to explore the hottest areas of information and communications technology management related to industry, academia, government, enterprise and other market segments from around the world.  NOMS 2018 will also present up-to-date approaches and technical solutions for novel management paradigms to deal with the new management issues in future infrastructure.

The NOMS is a very memorable conference for Dr. Choi because he received The Best Paper Award of the NOMS (Network Operations and Management Symposium) ‘96 which was held in Kyoto, Japan during April 15-19, 1996.  He was selected by the Technical Committee of the IEEE Communications Society among one of the three best papers as a general participant (two students and one general participant) among all the papers submitted to the conference.
