Italy Trip For Trauma and Safeguarding Studies
May 17 – 24, 2025
Trip highlights include: Presenting on trauma to international students in Rome, visit to San Gimingnano and their famous gelato, tour Florence leather making school, and a cooking class in Rome.
- There are only 20 spots for this trip and they will be selected on a first-come-first-serve basis based on the deposits paid.
- Cancellation Policy: this is a nonrefundable deposit. The final payment will be due at the beginning of the Spring semester and will be paid for students on their student account and will be non-refundable once paid.
- You will need a US passport for this trip. If you do not have a US passport, you will need a VISA. The EU may also require a VISA. These are at the traveler’s expense.
- This trip will include high mobility including lots of walking and steps.

CES 675 Safeguarding: Prevention of Trauma in the Church
All travelers must take the Safeguarding elective Spring 2025. This doctoral-level course will provide conceptual knowledge on historic and current issues related to sexual trauma in the church. There will be an emphasis on safeguarding advocacy and prevention. Students will prepare for the presentations in Rome on trauma and compassion fatigue as one of the assignments.
