Dr. Jamie Holland directs Regent’s School of Nursing and MSN program and expands her expertise in interprofessional, interdisciplinary and integrated healthcare as the director of her Research and Care Institute. Holland holds advanced practice board certifications as an Adult Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. When she is not serving the university or the community at her mental health practice, she can be found on the beach or working with her puppy and future therapy dog, Rigatoni.

NURS 305Pathophysiology3
Basic knowledge of common physiologic pathologies in pediatric and adult patients and their clinical management.
NURS 307Pharmacology for the RN3
Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of selected drug classes. Current issues in pharmacotherapy: identify vulnerable populations and the principles of pharmacotherapeutics across the lifespan including the effects of race, gender, and ethnicity.
NURS 310Professional Health Assessment4
Develops skills in acquisition of clinical evidence to determine health risk, treatment modalities, and psychological and physical status. Three credit lecture hours and one clinical credit hour.
NURS 330Nursing Leadership & Management Practices4
Develops leadership in complex transcultural systems while improving professional nursing practices and the application of novel administrative strategies to solve complex problems in large healthcare systems. Three credit lecture hours and one clinical credit hour. Prerequisite: NURS 310.
NURS 410Evidence-Based Nursing Research & Technology3
Develops skills in the use of evidence-based practice and the proper formation of appropriate forms for documentation and improvement of research.
NURS 430Community & Public Health Strategies4
Develops global perspective on community-based health promotion and protection with emphasis on improving practices, equity, and affordability. Three credit lecture hours and one clinical credit hour. Prerequisite: NURS 310. Prerequisite or Co-requisite: NURS 410.
NURS 440Nursing Informatics3
Computer technology in the healthcare field in order to improve patient outcomes; familiarity with the various technology media encountered in health care settings. Evaluate the legitimacy of information gathered from the Internet and assess electronic information as it relates to Evidence-Based Practice.
NURS 498Professional Nursing Capstone Project3
Capstone course for the Nursing major. Includes development of an evidence-based research project that solves a clinical management problem. MUST BE LAST NURSING COURSE TAKEN. May be Co-requisite with NURS 430 or NURS 440.

All students are expected to check-in for the semester two weeks before the session start date. Students should apply, be accepted, enroll in their first courses, and confirm a plan to pay for their courses prior to this date.

RN to B.S. in Nursing program applicants must:

  • Have prior nursing education from an accredited institution.

Admissions Requirements

Step 1: Apply to Regent University

Submit your application using the Regent University Online Application.

Step 2: Submit Your Unofficial Transcripts

Submit your unofficial transcripts to regent.edu/items.

Upon submitting your application, you will receive an email requesting authorization for Regent University to obtain your official transcripts from your U.S. degree-granting institution. International transcripts must be evaluated by a NACES, AACRAO or NAFSA approved agency.

Step 3: Complete an Admissions Questionnaire

Please complete a brief admissions questionnaire based on your professional goals and interests. This should only take a few minutes to complete but please answer the questions completely and thoughtfully. This gives us a better opportunity to get to know you and align your objectives with our programs. Once completed, it will be sent directly to an admissions counselor who will be in touch with you right away to help complete the rest of your application.

Step 4: Submit Your Nursing License

To be admitted to the RN to B.S. in Nursing program, you must submit an active unencumbered/unrestricted Registered Nurse license from your state of practice to regent.edu/items.

Step 5: Submit a Government-Issued ID

To ensure academic integrity, Regent University requires a copy of a government-issued ID. Please submit a scanned copy or photograph of it to regent.edu/items.

In accordance with national, professional nursing education standards, this program requires you to participate in practice immersion experiences through an arranged preceptor contract and includes 45 practice immersion hours in the following courses:
