Regent University School of Divinity Unveils its Doctor of Ministry in Biblical and Renewal Preaching 

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (July 10, 2024) – Regent University is announcing its new Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in Biblical and Renewal Preaching—a program designed to deepen theological understanding, equip ministry leaders with advanced skills in sermon construction, and provide Christlike practices for church care in today’s complex ministry culture.

“God has designated preaching as His way of delivering Biblical truth to His church and the world. To fulfill God’s call in this, our new program in Biblical and Renewal Preaching will help attain the highest level of preaching effectiveness that is Biblical in authority, Spirit-filled in quality, excellent in preparation, and relatable in delivery,” said Corné J. Bekker, Dean of the School of Divinity at Regent University. “The focus of Biblical preaching is to know ‘Jesus Christ and Him crucified’ (1 Corinthians 2:2 ESV). We place our program’s substantive priorities with Jesus Christ and Him crucified; His Holy Spirit’s power—not ours—and God’s power above man’s wisdom.”

This program emphasizes the transformative power of the Holy Spirit and advocates for a faithful interpretation of the Bible to inspire and win souls for Christ. The coursework will enable preachers to deliver messages that not only uplift and edify but also inspire profound spiritual and societal change.
