Regent University Dedicates Fountain to Colonel Richard “Rich” Jemiola.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2019, Regent University dedicated its iconic fountain to the beloved Colonel Richard “Rich” Jemiola.
Prior to his passing in June 2019, Jemiola served as an integral member of Regent’s executive team. He humbly contributed to the university’s mission and vision during his 20 years managing the university’s facilities.
Regent founder, chancellor and CEO Dr. M.G. “Pat” Robertson spoke in honor of Jemiola at the fountain’s dedication on Wednesday. “This is a special moment for all of us as we honor a dear friend and comrade, Rich Jemiola” said Robertson. “He was God’s servant, a dedicated human being, and a brilliant manager of facilities here at Regent University.”
“To God be the glory for Rich Jemiola,” added RUPD Chief of Police Chris A. Mitchell Sr., as he closed the ceremony in prayer.
Today, one can find a kind reminder of a Jemiola legacy at the campus’ focal point, the Regent Fountain. Inscribed on a plaque, one reads:
“In loving memory of our friend and colleague Colonel Richard W. Jemiola (USA-Ret.). His 20 years of service as the Director of Facilities & Engineering from September 3, 1998 to June 8, 2019 has touched every aspect of the Regent University campus. He is greatly missed, never forgotten. His spirit lives in the presence of Jesus our Lord and Savior.”
“Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, if anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him. John 7:37”
Installed on Veterans’ Day, 2019, the fountain’s plaque stands as a testimony to Jemiola’s work and legacy.
