Regent University Bolsters Worship Leadership Program by Launching New Guitar Studio

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Apr. 9, 2025) – Regent University School of Communication & the Arts is excited to announce the launch of its new Taylor Guitar Studio to support its growing Worship Leadership programs.

“The guitar studio will advance musicianship while emphasizing spiritual and biblical training,” said Steve Bowersox, Chair of Music & Worship Arts at Regent. “Developing musical gifts as a form of worship and service nurtures the student’s affections for God and strengthens their expressions of faith and worship.”

While the guitar studio is open to all Regent students, it is a required component for students majoring in Worship Leadership. The studio offers a hands-on opportunity to sharpen technical skills while fostering a deeper connection to Christian worship.

The Department of Music & Worship currently offers five Bachelor of Music degrees: Classical Voice, Contemporary Voice, Songwriting, Worship Leadership, and Production Technology. Adding the guitar studio further strengthens Regent’s commitment to preparing students for vibrant ministry and music careers.

“The guitar studio has been amazing,” said Joy Chambers, a freshman Contemporary Voice major. “It’s been such an incredible blessing and Dr. Bowersox is a great professor!”

Dr. Bowersox added, “The guitar studio marks a major milestone in the official launch of the Department of Music & Worship. It represents Regent University’s continued effort to develop worship leaders to change the world,”

Upon completion of these degree programs, graduates will be equipped for a variety of careers paths to include:
