Regent Ranks Again Among the Nation’s Best Graduate Schools by U.S. News & World Report
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (May 11, 2023) – Today, U.S. News & World Report announced that Regent University has been ranked among the 2023-2024 Best Graduate Schools in the nation.

Regent Law earned its highest ranking in the school’s history, coming in at 125th in the nation—up 17 spots from the previous year. The 2023-2024 Best Law Schools Rankings measured nearly 200 law schools that are accredited and fully approved by the American Bar Association.
Regent’s nursing program was listed among the top 150 Best Graduate Schools in the nation. U.S. News evaluated nursing schools with master’s or doctoral programs accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
The ranking indicators included the following:
- Faculty resources: nursing practice participation, faculty credentials, student-faculty ratio, percentage of faculty with important academic achievements in the nursing field
- Research activity: total grants, total educational and practical initiative grants, average of total grants, average of educational and practical initiative grants
- Quality assessment: peer assessment score, health care professionals’ assessment score
- Master’s program size: number of master’s degrees awarded, proportion of master’s enrollment
- Student selectivity: mean undergraduate grade point average, acceptance rate
Regent’s public affairs programs were listed in the 2023-2024 Best Graduate Schools Ranking—based solely on peer assessment survey results. U.S. News surveyed deans, directors, and department chairs in fall 2022 and early 2023. A total of 269 master’s programs in public affairs and administration were surveyed.
Respondents were asked to rate the academic quality of master’s programs on a scale of 1 to 5. The lists of schools evaluated were provided by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).
Regent’s School of Education was also named among the nation’s Best Graduate Schools. U.S. News evaluated 272 education schools granting doctoral education degrees on research activity, quality assessment, faculty resources, student selectivity, and peer assessments from education school deans and school hiring professionals.
