9 Things You Need to Know About #RegentGrad18
Congratulations Class of 2018!
You’re about to embark on one of the most exciting seasons of your life. We are so proud and honored that you’ve chosen to be a Regent University Royal in your studies and beyond.
Our Commissioning & Walking and University Commencement ceremonies are just a few days away! Here are nine things you need to know before you don your cap and gown!
Time, Date, Location
First things first: University Commencement is on Saturday, May 12, 2018. Graduates must arrive on campus for line up at 8 a.m. dressed in their regalia. The processional with all the pomp and circumstance begins at 9:15 a.m.
Commissioning & Walking ceremonies take place on Friday, May 11 (Saturday afternoon for College of Arts & Sciences). Be sure to check the official university website for your school’s details.
It’s Going to be One of the Best Days of Your Life
Get ready to celebrate! You are going to be blown away by the cheer and joy that overwhelms the campus. This will be a spirit-filled weekend – a milestone that you’ll always remember.
It’s Our Biggest Class of Graduates … Ever!
With nearly 2,000 approved graduates to date, represented by 20 different nations, we have so many people to launch into the world with the rest of our 24,000+ alumni!
Hundreds of Volunteers Work Countless Hours to Make this Weekend Happen
Planning for this annual celebration begins as early as February! Every department and every school is represented in a Commencement Committee, which pours in a collective 500 hours of work to make this event seamless.
And that’s just for the planning!
We’ll Have Accommodations Available
The needs of all of our guests on Commencement Weekend are a high priority for our events team. Please visit the website for details about handicapped parking, shuttle services, interpreters for the hearing impaired and more!
This Year We’re Featuring Our First-Ever Scavenger Hunt
Stick around campus after the big ceremony is over! Our Discover Regent team is hosting a campus-wide scavenger hunt. Plus, there will be food trucks and special movie entertainment on the Com Plaza. (Link to Map)
Cafe Moka and the Gift Shop will also have special Commencement operational hours before, during, and after the ceremony.
Get Ready for Some Confetti
We’ve ordered 100 pounds (yes, you read that correctly) of blue, green and a special Regent-themed confetti to launch at the end of the ceremony. You don’t want to miss that moment or the opportunity for a #selfie!
