Matisha Dentu, Ph.D.
Bio
Dr. Matisha Dentu has been appointed full-time assistant professor in Practical Theology and Spiritual Formation for the Regent University School of Divinity, beginning July 1, 2024. Dr. Dentu holds a Ph.D. in Theology and Worship from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, and a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University. She has served for over twenty years alongside her husband (Salvatore Dentu) as founding Pastor of the Living Faith Christian Center in Newport News, Virginia. The title of her dissertation is “Examining Spirituals as Vehicles of Narrative Theological Expressions for Nineteenth-Century African Americans.”
