Stephen A. Webb, M.S.

Bio

As a veteran of the Virginia State Police, Stephen Webb, M.S., has served on several work-related committees and completed training for school crisis, incident response, crisis management, emergency management, and numerous courses related to effective law enforcement operations and management. He is also committed to serving his local church in Suffolk, Virginia, and has volunteered for Isle of Wight Academy school functions, including the school crisis review committee.Webb earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice at Saint Leo University.

“My pedagogical approach is to engage students in learning through varied teaching methods, while integrating a Christian worldview and perspective. The 27 years of sworn law experience I possess provide real-world applications and insights to the theoretical principles found in criminal justice textbooks,” says Webb. He is careful to incorporate psychology, sociology, and other academic disciplines to develop well-rounded students.

Webb’s research interests include school resource officers, impact of media on law enforcement, and women in policing. He enjoys sports, hunting, bike riding, and gardening. He enjoys participating with his wife and three children in community activities in Suffolk, Smithfield and Isle of Wight County.
