Bio

Alicia Cooper recently earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Regent University. As a distinguished student and recent graduate, she aspires to enter practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) this year and is on track to complete her Doctorate of Nursing Practice, from Regent University, within the next few semesters.

With a robust background in emergency and trauma medicine, Cooper has accumulated extensive experience in case management, critical care, psychiatric nursing, geriatric services and inpatient bed flow coordination. Currently, she works with a psychiatric emergency response service within a local hospital system, coordinating the placement of acute psychiatric patients regionally.

Cooper is passionate about holistic patient care, emphasizing early recognition, intervention and treatment of mental health issues across the lifespan. Her primary focus is on pediatrics and family wellness. In addition to her clinical practice, she is dedicated to nursing education and mentorship, having developed numerous nursing mentorship programs and volunteering as a preceptor throughout her career.

As the Director of Clinical Training for the School of Nursing at Regent University, Cooper is excited to contribute as both a student and full-time faculty member to nursing.
