Regent University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, educational specialist, and doctorate degrees. Regent University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)

The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), has accredited the following programs in the School of Psychology & Counseling: Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Master of Arts in School Counseling, Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling, and Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision (first fully online CACREP-accredited CES Ph.D. program, celebrating 15 years). The Commission on Accreditation (CoA) of the American Psychological Association (APA), accredits the doctoral program in clinical psychology of the School of Psychology & Counseling. The baccalaureate and master’s degree programs in nursing at Regent University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

The B.S. in Cybersecurity is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Cybersecurity and Similarly Named Computing Programs.

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) has granted full national accreditation at the initial-licensure level and the advanced level to the Regent University School of Education. This accreditation status is effective between Fall 2023 and Fall 2030. The initial licensure level programs included in this accreditation cycle are: Early & Primary Education PreK-3; Elementary Education PreK-6; Secondary English 6-12; Secondary History & Social Science 6-12; Secondary Math 6-12; and K-12 Special Education – Licensure. The advanced level programs included are: Ed.S., Ed.D., and Ph.D. in K-12 School Leadership; M.Ed. in Educational Leadership; M.Ed., and Ed.S. in Leadership in Mathematics Education; M.Ed. in Reading Specialist; and M.A. in School Counseling. In April 2022, Regent University received a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, B.S. in Business program, and B.S. in Accounting program. The following three business programs were added to Regent’s ACBSP portfolio by receiving 10 years of initial accreditation: B.S. in Marketing, B.S. in Management, and B.S. in Human Resource Management. The Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS) accredits the School of Divinity, and the following degree programs are approved: M.A. in Apologetics & Cosmogony, M.A. in Christian Spirituality & Formation, M.A. in Practical Theology, M.T.S., M.Div., Th.M., D.Min. and Ph.D. in Renewal Theology. Regent University is authorized to operate in the state of Virginia and is exempt from the requirements of certification provided by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
