Regent University Names Brett Lindsay as Baseball Coach
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Dec. 18, 2024) – After a nationwide search, Regent University Director of Athletics Michael W. Allen has announced the hiring of Brett Lindsay as the Royals’ first-ever head baseball coach.
Lindsay is no stranger to the Hampton Roads area, having grown up in Gloucester, where he played baseball and graduated from Gloucester High School. Most recently, Lindsay served as an assistant coach at NJCAA and Region II member the University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain.
“After an extensive search and interview process, I am excited to welcome Brett Lindsay as our first-ever baseball coach at Regent University,” said Allen. “Brett is a Hampton Roads native who we feel understands the mission of our university and what we are trying to build here. From his love for the Lord to his experience and passion for the game of baseball, he made it clear that he was the guy we wanted mentoring our young men. I have full confidence that Coach Lindsay is going to build something special here.”
While at UA-Rich Mountain, Lindsay was responsible for the outfielders and was the batting coach. In addition, he was heavily involved in recruiting and the implementation and execution of practice plans. Prior to his time in Arkansas, Lindsay was an assistant at his alma mater Eastern Mennonite University, and Christopher Newport University.

The last few years of my baseball life have been filled with traveling and finding the next destination. I am excited to be back in Virginia and thankful for this opportunity to call Regent home.”
Prior to getting into coaching, Lindsay was a five-year starter at Eastern Mennonite University, where he was named to the ODAC All-Conference second team on three separate occasions, and in 2017-2018 he was named the athletic department’s Male Athlete of the Year. In addition, Lindsay played summer collegiate baseball with the Charlottesville TomSox, Genesee Rapids, and Niagara Power. After graduation, Lindsay continued his playing career overseas, playing in Austria and the Czech Republic and then back in the States in New Mexico.
At Regent, Lindsay will be responsible for building the Royals’ program that will begin its first of three years as provisional members of the NCAA in 2025-2026 and as members of the Coast-To-Coast conference. They are slated to begin competition next year, and Lindsay is currently recruiting for the university’s inaugural team.
Lindsay holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Leadership & Sports Management and a graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership from Eastern Mennonite University.
Coach Lindsey is scheduled to arrive on campus in January 2025.
