Center for student happiness

Regent’s Center for Student Happiness (CSH) aims to enhance the student experience for the university’s on-campus and online populations by cultivating a welcoming environment that supports their success. CSH provides academic coaching, life coaching, career coaching, orientation, webinars and workshops, and CLEP, which allows students to receive college credit for a fraction of the price.

Center for christian thought & action

Regent University’s Center for Christian Thought & Action (CCTA) is the premier resource for Christian thought leadership, inspiring leaders to better understand their world and work to improve it. The CCTA will feature leading scholars and thinkers, all offering unique solutions to the many challenges our world and culture faces.

STUDY ABROAD

Regent’s study abroad initiative offers students an exciting supplement to the traditional academic experience, giving them the opportunity to travel during college and to apply their studies in different cultural and global contexts. HONORS COLLEGE

Regent University’s Honors College allows academically gifted students to study through a Christian worldview that will help them re-imagine science, the arts, literature, history, theology, economics, family, law, and politics — the best of the liberal arts tradition. Benefits include an annual scholarship, priority class registration, an opportunity to publish content as a Center for Christian Thought & Action Fellow, and more. Candidates must submit two essays for consideration.

EARLY COLLEGE

Regent’s Early College initiative gives motivated high school students the chance to jumpstart their degree and start college early. Through the Early College Program, students can accelerate their education and earn college credits while homeschooling or finishing high school. Students can earn transferable undergraduate credits to apply for a degree at a substantial discount.

PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Located in the heart of Virginia’s Hampton Roads region, The Performing Arts Center at Regent University enjoys a stellar reputation for acoustic sophistication, audience comfort and aesthetic beauty. Since it opened in 2002, this 135,000-square-foot facility has hosted world-class performers such as Christopher Parkening, John Tesh, the Limón Dance Company, Nicole C. Mullens and Jars of Clay.

Regent university theatre

The Regent University Theatre has been serving the local community for more than 30 years by providing inspiring and thought-provoking entertainment of the highest caliber. Productions range from Broadway musicals and the classics to touching dramas and modern comedies. Audiences are delighted as they watch emerging young artists bring stories to life. VIRGINIA BEACH BASH

Learn the art and craft of staging combat for the stage and screen, as well as techniques for capturing and editing action for film & television. The Virginia Beach Bash is geared primarily to those who have an interest in historical and cultural martial arts forms and techniques as adjusted for performance. Classes are offered at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels and include instruction in a wide spectrum of styles and weaponry from both Western and Asian cultures, as well as opportunities to direct, film, edit and treat action sequences. Sign up to participate

REGENT CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Founded in 2005, the Regent Center for Entrepreneurship seeks to be a catalyst for entrepreneurship to extend God’s kingdom around the world, particularly in developing nations. The center seeks to improve the economic and spiritual condition of disadvantaged populations through business practices grounded in a Christian worldview. The center’s vision is to revitalize communities, regions and nations spiritually, socially, politically and economically through “Kingdom Entrepreneurship.”

EXECUTIVE MENTOR PROGRAM

In the spirit of II Timothy 2:2, Regent’s School of Business & Leadership is pleased to offer an Executive Mentor Program where graduate students are partnered with seasoned executives to establish transformational connections and gain valuable insights into issues such as career choice, faith-integration, networking skills and career development. The program provides the opportunity to counsel and influence the next generation of leaders.

CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVES IN LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS BOOK SERIES

In partnership with Palgrave Macmillan, the School of Business & Leadership is producing the Christian Perspectives in Leadership and Business book series. This series, authored by SBL alumni and faculty, provides robust content, relevant material and a unique voice as it integrates the scholarship perspective – with full devotion to the fields of business and leadership – and faith as the foundational aspect.

Psychological services center

The Psychological Services Center is a professional counseling resource center that provides outreach to Regent’s students, employees, and the greater Hampton Roads community. It is run by Regent’s Doctor of Psychology Clinical Program, accredited by the American Psychological Association. The center is staffed by doctoral students who are supervised by licensed clinical psychologists. Clinical psychology doctoral students provide clinic services and trainees perform assessments and/or clinical services under supervision.

Charis institute

The Charis Institute integrates Christian faith to educate, train and provide interventions for marriages. The Institute facilitates workshops in marriage and family ministries and provide couples counseling, The Hope Project within the Charis Institute trains Psy.D. students in the Hope approach to couple counseling in the Psychological Services Center.

Sexual identity institute

The Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity (ISSI) furthers the understanding of sexual identity, as well as its development and synthesis. Through research, training, clinical services and consultations, ISSI emphasizes achieving congruence in how we live and identify ourselves in ways that are consistent with our beliefs and values. Student members of ISSI have opportunities throughout the year to participate in research projects that are presented at national conferences and published in scholarly journals.

Society for forensic and assessment psychology

The Society for Forensic and Assessment Psychology educates clinicians-in-training on the intersections of psychology and law, focusing on how clinical psychology is applied in legal proceedings. Its areas of interest include research and education concerning competency to stand trial assessments, psychopathy, mentally ill prisoners, stigma toward mentally ill offenders and competency restoration. The organization provides students with incredible opportunities to do meaningful research on a wide variety of topics.

The institute for violence research

The Institute for Violence Research examines and expands the body of knowledge surrounding acts of violence with the goal of providing stakeholders with data to interrupt the process of violence before an event occurs and to formulate effective responses to minimize the loss of life.  Through research, collaboration and consultation, The Institute delivers evidenced-based findings to save lives and protect communities. Student members have opportunities to participate in research projects, publication of findings in textbooks, scholarly journals and other sources, and present findings in local, and national conferences as well as other venues.

The Research Center for Mental Health in the Faith Community

The Research Center for Mental Health in the Faith Community’s mission is to extend research and resources to the local and global faith community. It provides research, articles, psychoeducational tools, and video resources to enhance the kingdom of God. American Center for law and justice

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is one of our nation’s most influential public interest law firms. Headed by Chief Counsel Dr. Jay Sekulow, the ACLJ operates on the Regent campus, providing law students with unparalleled opportunities to participate in current religious and civil liberties cases.

Center for Global Justice

The Center for Global Justice® was founded in 2010 due to the increasing number of Regent Law students believing God had called them to a legal career in human rights. The center equips Christian advocates to promote the rule of law and seek justice for the world’s downtrodden—the poor, the oppressed, and the enslaved—and serves and supports those already engaged in such advocacy. Students in the Center have the opportunity to work on legal projects for human rights organizations around the world.

Center for Professional Formation

The Center for Professional Formation is committed to developing students’ professional identities. The Center’s goal is to produce lawyers who have an understanding of the nature and purpose of the legal profession and are committed to the ethical practice of law. The center’s Mentor Program helps facilitate the ethical Christian character formation of Regent Law students to support and encourage the center’s mission of fostering our students’ professional identity formation.

Robertson Center for Constitutional Law

The Robertson Center for Constitutional Law leverages the expertise of faculty, students, and its global network of alumni and legal experts to promote first principles in constitutional law including freedom of speech, separation of powers, and religious freedom. The Center has filed briefs in cases before the federal circuit courts of appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Clinics

The School of Law’s Civil Litigation, Immigration Practicum, and Child Advocacy clinics allow students to gain practical experience working on a variety of legal matters. Students represent real clients and assist with real cases working under the supervision of professionals. View details
