Regent Initiates Military Partnership

| December 17, 2013

Regent University has agreed to a strategic partnership with U.S. Army Command & General Staff College's (CGSC) Department of Distance Education, whose mission is "to prepare field grade officers to solve problems and lead organizations in a range of Army, joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multinational operations in complex and uncertain operational environments. DDE develops, distributes and administers the Command and General Staff College's distance learning programs to Active and Reserve Component officers from all services and allied nations."

The partnership provides advanced standing of up to 15 credits for graduates of CGSC's Intermediate Level Education (ILE) in the School of Business & Leadership's (SBL) Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Master of Arts in Strategic Foresight programs, as well as the Robertson School of Government's Master of Public Administration (MPA).

"We are deeply honored to have this partnership with the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College as the students joining our programs at the School of Business & Leadership through this partnership are of high caliber, great dedication, deep character and significant scholarly abilities. A wonderful partnership," said Dr. Doris Gomez, interim dean of SBL.

CGSC's Program Manager for the Department of Distance Education, LTC Michael Smith, said, "This partnership allows CGSC to expand the number of colleges and universities that provide outstanding learning opportunities for our workforce. It enables our graduates an opportunity to continue to work toward their educational goals with a military-friendly university and helps them to develop as leaders and technical experts in their fields."

"We are honored to be able to recognize the achievement of CGSC's ILE graduates, enabling them to receive advanced standing in our robust and impactful master's degrees," said Regent's Director of Military & Veterans Affairs, David Boisselle.
