Using Wimba Live Classroom
Wimba Live Classroom is installed as an add-on to Regent University's Blackboard system. Instructors can create and manage Wimba rooms via the Blackboard communication tool or through any content area. Students should contact their instructors for details on accessing Wimba within a Blackboard course.
Instructors looking for more information on using Wimba to enhance their courses should visit the Center for Teaching and Learning's Online Resources page for Blackboard:
Wimba Setup Wizard
The first time you access Wimba's Live Classroom, you will be prompted to run a setup wizard. The Wimba Setup Wizard is a series of automated tests designed to ensure that each user's computer is configured to use Live Classroom. The focus for each presenter and participant in an online session should be on teaching and learning, not on troubleshooting technical problems, so it is very important to run the wizard ahead of time.
If someone cannot pass the wizard, he/she can skip the particular wizard test and fill out the feedback form at the very end; a Wimba representative will contact this person via email with troubleshooting tips. Alternately, feel free to call 866.350.4978 (toll free 24 hour support).
Wimba provides technical support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Users experiencing technical trouble can contact Wimba at firstname.lastname@example.org or 866.350.4978.
