Understanding Disabilities

For the purposes of providing accomodations, a person with a disability is defined as any person who has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major life activity such as walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, and working.

These limitations may be visible or invisible, but they must be documented. Regent University will provide reasonable accommodation to the known physical and mental limitations of a qualified individual with a disability, unless to do so would impose an undue hardship on the operation of the university.
