General Parking Policies and Procedures
All Regent University faculty, staff, and students are required to register their vehicles and motorcycles with Parking Services. Submit a General Campus Parking Application at www.regent.edu/parking. Parking decals will be sent via interoffice mail to staff and faculty. Students can pick up parking decals at Student Services in SC 201 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm (6 pm on Tuesdays). The sticker must be placed on the inside of the windshield behind the rear view mirror, out of the line of sight. Stickers are non-transferable.
There is a $100 semesterly parking fee for students, billed directly to each student’s account. This charge is mandatory for every Virginia Beach campus student who owns or drives a motor vehicle on campus and who enrolls in three or more credit hours of on-campus courses during the academic year. Parking decals remain valid throughout a student’s enrollment. Students who do not meet the above criteria may file for a parking fee waiver, available at www.regent.edu/parkingwaiver.
Residential/Student Housing Lots: Regent Village and Regent Commons parking lots are to be used exclusively by residents and registered guests of the Regent Commons and Regent Village. Current student residents of Regent Village or Regent Commons will be issued a red resident decal. Guests of student residents must obtain a guest pass from the Regent Village or Regent Commons Student Housing Offices.
Violations: Parking violations are $50 for most offenses; $100 for parking in the Student Center lot without the proper hangtag; and $150 for parking in a disabled spot. All fines must be paid to the cashier in the University Business Office within ten days of the violation. Fines will be placed on student accounts if not paid by the deadline. Vehicles parked in unauthorized locations are also subject to towing. Violations may be appealed by filing the proper form located at www.regent.edu/parkingviolationappeal.
Liability: Every effort should be made to secure all vehicles and belongings while on campus. Regent University, CBN, and Founders Inn are not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles parked on the property. Theft and damage reports should be made to Campus Police at 757.226.2075.
Disabled/Emergency parking: Permanent Disabled parking placards can be obtained through the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. For more information visit their website at www.dmv.virginia.gov/webdoc/citizen/disability/plates_assist.asp. For information on temporary medical parking needs, visit www.regent.edu/medicalparking.
AMERIGROUP Parking: Vehicles displaying a valid Regent parking decal are permitted to park in the first row of the AMERIGROUP parking lot, parallel to Regent University Drive, only. Vehicles parked past the first row will be towed at the owner’s expense.
University Shuttle: The shuttle provides free transportation around campus to all Regent, Founders Inn, and CBN staff and students. Check www.regent.edu/shuttle for current hours and routes.
Reserved Spaces: There are numbered reserved parking spaces for full-time University faculty and staff, and ACLJ staff available on campus. Reserved spots are enforced Monday-Friday between 6:00am and 6:00pm. Parking in a reserved space without the appropriate hangtag during enforcement hours will result in the vehicle being ticketed and/or towed. Reserved parking can be requested by submitting the application at www.regent.edu/reservedparking.
Visitor Parking: The Communication Parking Lot is designated for visitor parking. All campus visitors parking elsewhere on campus must have a parking permit. Temporary parking hangtags are available in Student Services. Passes may also be obtained by completing the Temporary Parking Application at www.regent.edu/temporaryparking.
