Benefits

Regent University offers a wide range of benefits such as comprehensive health coverage for you and your family, a fully funded retirement plan, life and disability insurance options, time-off, tuition benefits, and more.

All regular faculty and staff serving at Regent and working a minimum of 30 hours will receive the following as part of an attractive benefits package:

Regent University Group Health Plan

Optima Health administers Regent's medical and prescription drug coverage, which includes a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) option and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) option. Regent generously contributes to and matches employee contributions to each participant's HSA. CIGNA administers the dental coverage, which includes two routine cleanings per year at no cost to the employee. Regent administers the vision coverage, providing employees with a reimbursement allotment to use for vision exams and materials.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Health Equity administers Regent's health care and dependent care flexible spending account. Flexible spending accounts allow employees to use pre-tax dollars for health care or dependent care expenses.

Retirement Plan

Regent has a tax-sheltered 403(b) annuity retirement program that is provided through Fidelity Investments. The plan is fully vested from the date of employment and offers both pre-tax and after-tax contribution options. Regent contributes a non-matching percentage, based on employees' annual salaries, into their retirement accounts.

Tuition Benefits

For benefitted faculty and staff, 100 percent of Regent's tuition costs are waived while spouses and eligible dependents receive a 75 percent waiver, subject to applicable waiting periods. Regent also has an Education Assistance Program, Tuition Exchange Program and Tuition Waivers through the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).

Life Insurance Benefits

Regent provides term life insurance in the amount of twice your annual salary. Benefitted employees have the option to elect supplemental life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance as a payroll deduction.

Disability Insurance Benefits

Regent provides both short-term and long-term disability benefits.

Other Insurance Benefits

Benefitted employees may elect long-term care insurance, which provides a monthly benefit payment to help meet the financial and emotional impact of an extended illness, injury or advancing age. Regent also provides business travel accident insurance, including but not limited to, identity theft recovery assistance and a 24-hour toll-free emergency service line.

Employee Assistance Programs

Employees have access to Optima Health's Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which provides up to three free counseling sessions per issue per family member, as well as legal, financial and identity theft assistance. Regent also provdies services through the Psychological Service Center conveniently located on campus. The F.A.I.T.H. Fund (Financial Assistance in Times of Hardship) is a unique fund that provides assistance for employees with an unexpected and immediate need.

Paid Leave

Employees receive 11 paid holidays, paid vacation and medical leave. Missionary Leave provides employees one week of paid leave for missionary service, subject to applicable waiting period.

Wellness Program

Regent offers a wellness program for all faculty and staff, which includes a regular health screening, participation in an exercise program or weight loss program, and a variety of educational Lunch 'n Learn Seminars.
