Workshop Description:

With "Crisis" and "Tragedy" reverberating around us throughout the nation and many times next door or even within our own family, there has never been a more urgent time for the Body of Christ to be equipped to respond during these times of crisis with the love of Christ. Operation Blessing and Regent University are teaming up with Billy Graham's Rapid Response Ministry to offer a one-day seminar in Virginia Beach entitled, "Sharing Hope in Crisis."

Learn the ministry skills needed to share God's love and comfort in very practical and professional ways to people whose lives have been shattered by crisis in your family, organization, community and workplace.

Workshop Objectives:

    1. Train and recruit counselors, chaplains, social workers, educators and others interested in ministering and counseling persons affected by trauma for deployment with the Rapid Response Team.

    2. Equip God's people to appropriately share HIS hope and comfort with people everyday whoe experience a personal crisis.

    3. Help churches develop Disaster Preparedness Plans.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

    1. Utilize and identify underlying emotional and spiritual coping techniques when working with indivduals who have experienced a severe traumatic reaction in both natural and man-made trauma situations.

    2.Clarify and list symptoms of traumatic stress and reactions to trauma that those who have been in a traumatic situation might experience.

    3. Synthesize intervention strategies and identify appropriate applications in a variety of settings

Continuing Education Hours (CEs) for the Trauma Series one and two day workshops are 50% off regular price (regular approx. $9.95 per CEU!) CE's available for on-site attendees only.

The Sharing Hope in Crisis Seminar will be held in the CBN Corporate Support Building (CSB) Chapel (the building facing Centerville Turnpike), located on the second floor. Please bring your registration confirmation with you along with a Photo ID to gain access through the main entrance. Further instruction will be provided in a confirmation email.
