Westlaw and Lexis
Westlaw and LexisNexis are subscription databases offering access to an astounding array of U.S. primary and secondary legal resources and an expanding amount of International law material.
Access to Westlaw and LexisNexis
Access is limited by agreement to current members of the law faculty and currently enrolled law students. All incoming law students are issued Westlaw and LexisNexis passwords as part of new student orientation. Full access is not given to first year students until authorized by the Legal Research and Writing Program Director, usually at the beginning of the second semester.
The Law Library regularly coordinates Westlaw and LexisNexis training sessions. Sessions range from basic to advanced instruction. Detailed information about upcoming sessions is available at News & Information.
In addition, a variety of user’s guides and other reference materials are available in the Law Library Computer Lab.
Questions regarding Westlaw or LexisNexis passwords, training, or services should be directed to Bill Magee at (757) 352-4098 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
