About our Services

Fee-based Document Delivery / Photocopy & Fax Services

When provided with a complete citation, the Law Library will retrieve and fax or mail photocopies of certain library material for a nominal fee to members of the local bar who establish an account with the Access Services Department. For complete information, please contact the Access Services Supervisor at (757) 352-4450.

Assistance

Law librarians are available to assist members of the local bar in locating and using law library resources. A law librarian is generally available Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., during the academic year. Reference assistance is more limited during the summer and when the Law School is not in session. For more information, please call (757) 352-4145, or email lawref@regent.edu.

Wireless Access

Patrons with a properly equipped laptop or other handheld device may access our wireless network, free of charge.

Photocopying

Two self-serve photocopiers are available for public use. Copies are $.10 per page. The machines accept change and bills. Reduced photocopy prices may be obtained through purchase of a copycard, available at Access Services.

Borrowing Privileges

In order to ensure that key materials are available to all researchers, the majority of the Law Library’s Collection has been designated as non-circulating. However, books that do circulate may be checked-out for a three-week loan period by local attorneys who establish a patron account. If at the end of that time the book is not late or placed on hold, it may be renewed for unlimited additional three-week periods. During a renewal period, a book is subject to recall. Recalled items must be returned within 5 days.

Fines for overdue books are $.10 per item per day. If the book is late and another patron has requested that the item be recalled, the fine increases to $.50 per item per day.

Cell Phone Use

Cell phone use is permitted in designated areas.
