Computer Requirements & Recommendations

ComputerWhile a laptop is not required, it can be an extremely useful tool in law school. All classrooms are equipped with outlets for laptop use.

  • High-speed internet access is available through the Law Library.
  • Students desiring to access the LAN should install a 10BaseT Ethernet card, which is compatible with network interface drivers provided by Microsoft for Windows.
  • Additional information on the University Wireless network may be found at www.regent.edu/it/helpdesk/document/wireless.cfm.
  • Law students who wish to use their laptops for typing exams will find minimum specifications for using the software at www.examsoft.com/regentlaw.
  • Regent Law permits Macs to be used on exams. Users with Mac OSX v. 10.4.4 (Tiger) or Mac OSX v. 10.5 (Leopard) laptops can run SofTest in Windows XP or Vista installed via Apple's Boot Camp.
