Linda D. Grooms, B.M., M.Ed., Ph.D.
With over three decades in the field of education, Dr. Grooms' experience has been one of invaluable diversity - from a high school band director to an elementary guidance counselor; from an educational liaison/consultant/research analyst to an educational free-lance writer; from a national program and curriculum developer for home day care mothers of infants through school-age children to teaching at the graduate level; and more recently serving as a building-level public school administrator. Though the majority of her tenure in the field has been in public education, a relatively brief opportunity was also availed in a K-8 Christian school. Dr. Grooms' desire for the integration of faith and learning initially brought her to Regent, and that commitment has remained the catalyst that has kept her connected to the university in one capacity or another since 1982.
Dr. Grooms received a BM in Music Theory from Furman University, an M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Curriculum Supervision from Regent University's School of Education, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University's School of Leadership Studies. In addition, from the Commonwealth of Virginia she holds a Division Superintendent's License and a Postgraduate Professional License with endorsements in the following areas: Administration and Supervision PreK-12, Elementary School Counselor, and Music: Instrumental PreK-12.
