Military Discount

Value: 25%

Description: The School of Divinity supports students who are active duty military or are in the military chaplain candidacy program.

Eligibility: Students must be active military or a reservist on active duty. Military chaplaincy candidates also qualify (proof is required).

Stipulations: 25% of tuition with a cap of 9 credit hours per Fall and Spring, and 6 credits in the Summer.

US Army Chaplains Discount

Value: 25%

Description: The School of Divinity seeks to support the growth and development of the Chaplain Career field in the US Army through a partnership by offering the Army National Guard Chaplains Scholarship. This award is available to a limited number of students who are members of the US Army Chaplain Candidates program. This award cannot be combined with other Divinity Financial Awards, including the Military Discount.

Eligibility: Students are required to be successfully admitted to the Regent University School of Divinity and the US Army Chaplain Candidate program. Recipients should be jointly approved by the US Army and Regent University’s School of Divinity.

Stipulations: It is necessary for the student to obtain approval for this award by submitting the Military Discount and Scholarship application. The student is responsible for applying to the US Army Chaplains Candidate program (see www.goarmy.com/chaplain). It is also the responsibility of the student to ensure that all charges are resolved with the Regent University Business Office.

Army National Guard Chaplains Discount

Value: up to 50%

Description: The School of Divinity seeks to support the growth and development of the Chaplain Career field in the Army National Guard (ARNG) through a partnership with the National Guard Bureau Army Strength Maintenance Division, by offering the Army National Guard Chaplains Scholarship (more about ANG Chaplains). This award is available to a limited number of students who are members of the Army National Guard Chaplain Candidates program. This award cannot be combined with other Divinity Financial Awards, including the Military Discount.

Eligibility: Students are required to be successfully admitted to the Regent University School of Divinity and the Army National Guard Chaplain Candidate program. Recipients should be jointly approved by the Army National Guard, Strength Maintenance Division and Regent University’s School of Divinity.

Stipulations: It is necessary for the student to obtain approval for this award by submitting the Army National Guard Chaplains Discount Application to the Divinity Financial Aid Coordinator each semester. Student is responsible for completing the application for Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) available to qualified National Guard Members, and should submit the Military Tuition Assistance Authorization form to the Business Office. It is also the responsibility of the student to ensure that all charges are resolved with the Regent University Business Office.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (May 2009 Announcement)

With Congressional authorization set forth in Public Law 110-417, the Department of Defense is expanding the Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) for military spouses of active duty and activated Guard and Reserve Service members worldwide beginning in mid-May 2009. MyCAA is currently completing an extensive testing period with the help of volunteer spouses, schools and other payees. Final administrative processes are now being put into place. In mid May, MyCAA will officially open its doors for eligible military spouses worldwide to receive up to $6,000 of financial assistance to help pay for licenses, certifications and education (including graduate school) in high growth, high demand portable career fields.

Military spouses need only apply via MyCAA website and interact with a counselor to justify the request. Once approved, they can download the authorization and send it to Regent University’s Business Office for invoicing the Department of Defense.
