With a mind for business and a heart for people, Mr. Conoly Phillips has spent his life serving others as a leader in business, the local community and non-profit ministries. Having a keen interest in how businesses can be centered on the Lord, he is a longtime owner of a Lincoln Mercury automobile franchise, from which he retired in 1999, after 40 years in the business. He has served on the Norfolk City Council for 20 years and as president of the Hampton Roads Automobile Dealers Association, the Tidewater Better Business Bureau, the United Way of Virginia, the Union Mission and Hope Haven Children’s Home. Now, a trustee and former chairman of the board at Regent University, his interests remain focused on the idea that the Christian faith can be integrated into the classroom, providing excellence in both academics and spiritual life. Though retired, Mr. Phillips is still active on several boards.
