Launching BreakthrUniversity®: A Women's Small Group Coaching Model
Fostering Breakthrough in Leaders' Personal Growth and Development

This project details the coaching model and four level coaching curriculum for BreakthrUniversity®. BreakthrUniversity® is a leadership development organization that helps clients acquire the skills and tools necessary to fulfill their roles as modern leaders through individual and small group coaching. Four modules comprise the coaching model upon which BreakthrUniversity™ is based:

1. Pathfinders is the self-leadership module. The core competencies in this module include self awareness, self confidence, self development, resilience and action orientation. Clients focus upon personal effectiveness by building such skills as stress management, time management, problem solving and decision-making. They also explore their personal core values and life purpose.

2. Partners is the interpersonal module. The core competencies in this module include empathy, interpersonal savvy, assertiveness, accountability and trust-building. Clients focus upon becoming more effective in one-on-one relationships by sharpening skills in such areas as listening, conflict management, communication, and understanding and adapting to others' personalities and personal styles. They also explore articulating and managing expectations.

3. Pacesetters is the teambuilding module. The core competencies in this module include inspiring a shared vision, valuing diversity, managing change, motivating and empowering others, and results orientation. Clients focus upon becoming more effective in building and leading teams by sharpening skills in such areas as recruitment and retention, coaching, delegating, and quality assurance. They also explore techniques for setting and achieving collective goals.

4. Pioneers is the strategic change module. The core competencies in this module include adopting a global perspective, leveraging resources, leading change, driving innovation, and demonstrating organizational savvy. Clients focus upon leading organizational or systems-wide change by sharpening skills in such areas as monitoring the external environment, forecasting and strategic thinking. They also explore methods for strategic planning and organizational design.
