- What is Residency?
- To learn more about the purpose of our residencies please visit our residency site.
|
- Is it mandatory that I attend all of the residencies?
- Residencies are mandatory for all doctoral students, but are optional for master’s students.
|
- How much time do I need to allocate for residency?
- It would be best for doctoral students to allocate approximately six days for residency (excluding days for travel). Master’s students should allocate three days.
|
- How much does it cost?
- All doctoral students are responsible for their own lodging, travel arrangements and incidental expenses. (Please note: Cohorts 2008 and 2007 doctoral students' accommodations are covered by GLE per prior contractual agreements.) New doctoral students are encouraged to stay at The Founders Inn & Spa and may receive a reduced "Regent" rate; however, rooms at this rate are limited and are only available on a first come, first served basis. GLE will provide all meals through the Regent Ordinary on campus.
Information regarding residency expenses for master’s students is forthcoming.

- A typical day begins around 8:30 in the morning with a class session, followed by lunch and an afternoon class session. - First-year students are welcome to bring their families with them. Students should plan, however, to use non-class time and evenings for research, writing and meeting with other students. There can be limited time to participate with your family during residency. To get more information about things to do in the area with your family, visit our hospitality site.
