- In 1978, Dr. M. G."Pat" Robertson saw a vision materialize as 77 students entered leased classroom space to study for graduate degrees in communication. From those humble beginnings, Regent University has grown into the preeminent educational institution of its kind in America. As a center of Christian thought and action, Regent fills a unique role in higher education, offering more than 20 graduate programs online and typically enrolling students from all 50 states and more than 50 countries to share academic and professional study.

- Regent's Virginia Beach Campus offers students the best facilities and equipment, including the University Library, with innovative computer technology and 751,000 microforms and 10,000 audiovisual items, several computer labs, copy center and mail services. The 31,000-square-foot Student Center on Regent's Virginia Beach Campus, which opened
in 2003, houses the University Bookstore, student organizations and meeting rooms, a
cafe/coffee shop, computer lab, student lounge, and offices for the Registrar,
Admissions and Financial Aid.
