Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership - Global Leadership Major

GL Course Requirements | GL Course Map

Available to students who began their studies prior to Summer Semester 2010, the Global Leadership major provides an emphasis on the dynamics associated with leadership and transnational organizations. Students examine the role of cultural contexts in leadership including anthropological, biblical, psychological and sociological aspects, as well as the driving factors leading to individual, group and organizational growth and development in a global environment. The Global Leadership major uses a tutorial model best suited to students with advanced professional standing and a record of publications.

Residency Requirements for the Global Leadership Major

Students in the Global Leadership major begin the program by attending the first-year residency along with all other Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership students. They do not attend the second-year residency, but do attend the third-year residency after completing at least 36 credit hours of coursework. It may be more than three years before the students take the final residency. During the third-year residency, students in the Global Leadership major present papers at the International Leadership Studies Conference, interact with professors on dissertation topics, prepare for the comprehensive exams and participate in dissertation workshops.
