Registration Questions

When does registration open? Registration for Summer Semester 2010 begins on March 16, 2010.

How do I register? Register for your first course and the University Library course in Genisys.

What course do I register for in Genisys?

Ph.D. Students: For all majors except Global Leadership (GL), you will register for LPHD 702 and the University Library course. GL students will register for LDGL 701 and the University Library course.

DSL Students: You will register for LDSL 701 and the University Library course.

How do I receive my login and password? Once you pay the enrollment deposit, you will receive your login and password from our IT Department via email. If you have questions about your login and password or have not received it, please contact our IT Department at 757.352.4076 or helpdesk@regent.edu.

Do I need to register for my first course and residency separately? Yes. Register for the first course in Genisys and the residency through our website. Click here to register for residency.

What books do I need to buy for my first course? The syllabus for your first course will include a book list. You can access your course syllabus in Blackboard, which will be posted 30 days before residency.

Residency Questions

Can I arrive the day before residency begins? Yes. Students should check into their hotel the day before residency and check out the morning of the last day of residency (Unless they are attending the Roundtables of Leadership Research and Practice).

What is the attire at residency? The dress code is business casual.

Can I bring my spouse and family? First-year students are welcome to bring their families with them. Students should, however, plan to use non-class time and evenings for research, writing and meeting with other students. There will be limited time to spend with family during residency.

What are the dates and schedule for residency? Residency is Monday, May 10 through Saturday, May 16. To view the schedule for residency, please click here.

Do I need a laptop? A laptop computer with wireless Internet access is required for residency. Confirm that your computer hardware and software are compatible with the professor’s by reviewing our IT Department’s computer recommendations.

What books do I need to bring to residency?
Your syllabus for the course explains which books to bring to residency.

What airport should I fly to? The closest airport to The Founders Inn and Spa is the Norfolk International Airport (ORF).

How much does residency cost? First-year doctoral students are responsible for their own lodging, travel and incidental expenses. New doctoral students are encouraged to stay at The Founders Inn and may receive a reduced “Regent” rate (limited availability). The current “Regent” rate is $115 for single occupancy and $125 for double occupancy. There is no extra room charge for spouses. GLE will provide all meals through the Regent Ordinary on campus.
