Founder and Chancellor Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

| June 17, 2013

Regent Founder and Chancellor Dr. M.G. "Pat" Robertson accepts the Winston Churchill Lifetime Achievement Award from the Faith & Freedom Coalition.

In recognition of his many years of influence in advancing conservative values, Regent Founder and Chancellor Dr. M.G. "Pat" Robertson received the Faith & Freedom Coalition's first Winston Churchill Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday, June 14.

Dr. Robertson was recognized at a banquet in Washington, D.C., by Faith & Freedom Coalition founder and chairman, Ralph Reed. The event was part of the coalition's Road to Majority 2013 Conference.

"I am honored to be associated with Winston Churchill, one of the great leaders of World War II," Dr. Robertson said. "His contribution to freedom is monumental and an inspiration to us all. I trust that we can live up to the noble ideals for which he is famous."

Faith & Freedom Executive Director Gary Marx said, "Dr. Robertson is receiving the award in honor of a lifetime of success in speaking out for our conservative values and constitutional principles." Marx is a 2002 graduate of Regent's Robertson School of Government, named in memory of Dr. Robertson's father, U.S. Senator Willis A. Robertson, who represented Virginia in Congress for more than 30 years.

Several members of Regent's leadership team were on hand for Robertson's recognition, including President Carlos Campo.

"Dr. Robertson has been a visionary in so many areas—ministry, education, broadcasting—but in all his endeavors, he has demanded excellence and faithfully followed the Lord's leading and put his complete trust in Him," President Campo said. "Dr. Robertson has remained steadfast as an influential spokesperson for conservative principles and passionate faith, and we are indebted to him for his leadership and shining example."

The Faith & Freedom Coalition is a non-profit organization committed to educating, equipping, and mobilizing people of faith and like-minded individuals to be effective citizens.
