MBA Program Earns ACBSP Accreditation

The Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs (ACBSP) has granted accreditation to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Regent University's School of Business & Leadership (SBL).
"This prestigious accreditation provides instant credibility to Regent's MBA program," said Regent president, Dr. Carlos Campo. "It is confirmation of Regent's academic excellence, exceptional faculty and university support."
The accreditation process began in January 2010, during which the MBA program was granted candidacy status. Now, Regent's MBA program is one of only three MBA programs in Virginia that holds this noteworthy accreditation.
"The Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs is a rapidly growing, international professional accreditation association in business that has immediate recognition for quality and rigor throughout the professional business community," noted Professor Tim Redmer, MBA program director. "Students graduating with an MBA degree from Regent will now have a competitive advantage and increased stature when they market their educational accomplishments and achievements."
To obtain ACBSP accreditation, Redmer ensured that Regent's MBA program was compliant with internal and external assessment measures related to strategic planning, program, courses and assignment-related outcomes, and an exceptional faculty that is 100 percent academically qualified with either a terminal degree or equivalent in their area of expertise.
According to Redmer, obtaining ACBSP accreditation was a team effort that garnered support from the Board of Trustees to the students. "We received 100 percent support for this endeavor from President Campo, Dean Winston and the faculty, as well as many students and alumni," Redmer said.
