Mary ScottMilitary & Veterans Affairs Enrollment Counselor
Before coming to Regent University, Mary Scott served four years of active duty in the United States Navy and is currently serving in the United States Navy Reserve as a Surface Warfare Officer. She is a recipient of a Navy ROTC four year scholarship, through which she obtained her commission as a Naval Officer at Tulane University. She currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, as well as a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Training. During her active duty service, she deployed to the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific on a Counter Narcotics Deployment in 2006 and to the Mediterranean on a Standing NATO Maritime Group-2 (SNMG-2) deployment in 2008. She has received 2 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, while serving on board the USS Stephen W. Groves (FFG-29) and the USS Gonzalez (DDG-66). Her Reserve commands include Navy Reserve Unit United States Joint Forces Command and the Navy Reserve Unit NATO Combined Joint Operations from the Sea Centre of Excellence.
Tameka LyonsVeterans Affairs Certifying Official
Tameka Lyons serves as the VA Certifying Official for Regent University. Located in the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs, she is able to assist students with all Military Benefits, including Tuition Assistance.
Tameka is currently pursuing her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology with a minor in Homeland and International Security. Tameka retired from the Army in December 2013 after serving as a Geospatial Engineer. Being born into a military family, Tameka has always had close ties to the military and is aware of the unique needs that military families have. She also has personal experience using Tuition Assistance as well as VA Education Benefits. Tameka hopes to be able to use her past experience and knowledge to assist and relate to our military and veteran students.
Jessica ReidMilitary Benefits Manager
Jessica Reid serves as the Military Benefits Manager for Regent University. Also located in the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs, she is able to assist students with all military financial benefits and military academic reporting.
Jessica graduated from Regent's College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, and she is happy to relate to you about her Regent online undergraduate experience. She is passionate about helping service members and their families both on and off the job. Her sister is a military wife and her brother-in-law is a submariner stationed in Norfolk. Jessica and her husband TJ (who also works at Regent as Director of Admissions, Online and Accelerated Programs) have served as pastors in several churches throughout the country. She hopes to use her ministry experience and psychology degree to continue to serve the unique needs of military marriages and families.
